I am an Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering Department at Firat

I have an MS degree in Computer Science from Syracuse University (2001) and a PhD degree in Computer Science from Indiana University (2007).

I am generally interested in Distributed Systems and their applications in different disciplines. Grids, Grid Architectures, Web Services and Service Oriented Architectures are the topics I have been studying.

I have studied Web Services and implemented various different ones in several projects and also extensively used and studied publish-subscribe messaging systems for various projects I was involved. I have built a high performance and high rate filter architecture around publish-subscribe messaging substrates to be used in real-time GPS stream processing.

During the last years of my PhD study I have focused mostly on creating a Service Oriented Architecture for Geographic Information Systems. I have studied the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) services and standards and built several GML (Geography Markup Language) Schemas for data such as the seismic data, fault lines, GPS measurements etc. I have also implemented Web Feature Service one of the major services defined by OGC as a Web Service.
