In animals which are too weak to undergo general anaesthesia or in cases when general anaesthesia is inconvenient, anaesthesia techniques that should be applied in nerve stretch, joint-in, tendon sheath, castration will be explained, and practical operations of these will be shown. Nerve block anaesthesia and sites where it is effective will be explained for head and extremity portion of all animal species especially of ruminants, and practical operations will be performed on animals available.

Aims and Objectives of the module

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge to apply nerve stretch anaesthesia in operations in which  general anaesthesia is inconvenient or restricted to only specific area, and castrastion and local anaesthetic techniques will be applied and operations will be carried out depending on animal species.
